David Kulik

David Kulik works with clients to obtain and enforce intellectual property rights surrounding their products, services, and creative works. He manages international patent portfolios throughout the world and regularly counsels clients on patent, trademark, trade secret, arts and entertainment, and technology licensing questions.

After previous stints at medium to large general practice law firms, he joined a colleague at a small firm in the exciting area of Georgetown, Washington D.C. The personal service, professional contacts, and friendly atmosphere and attitude at Remenick PLLC suits David better.  He and Jim Remenick started their legal careers at a prominent D.C. intellectual property boutique a few years ago.

David’s expertise is intellectual property (IP), including helping engineers, scientists, and creative artists perfect rights in their own works and inventions and designs, fending off infringement claims or acting against infringers, negotiating and protecting licensed technologies and IP rights, due diligence reviews for IP and regulatory issues, and developing portfolios of patents, trademarks and copyrights for his clients’ innovative products and services as well the brands that support them.  He also has experience in some esoteric IP work like resolving inventorship disputes, patent interferences, post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent Office, and oppositions through the U.S. Trademark Office.

Whether it’s a pharmaceutical product, a biotechnology or genomics method, a smart HVAC or building management system, a robotic system or autonomous vehicle, security software, a food/beverage or supplement product, a book or movie, or trademark or trade dress infringement, David’s range of past and current clients keeps him interested in many technologies and all aspects of IP.  It also keeps him involved with companies and individuals that create IP, from individuals, to start-ups, larger companies, and even Fortune 500 clients.

Outside the office, David participates in activities like volunteering at food kitchens, his triathlon club, pet rescue programs, and local Special Olympics events.

David is a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted or has appeared in several jurisdictions throughout the U.S.  He is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School, and a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
